yeah this was my second time using just black paper. working backwards is hard. the first time was with white cante. this one was alot harder because it was all in color. didnt like nicholas cages face, too much color, not enough shadow.

Yeah, colored pencils on toned paper. They're just the way too go. Good composition, good colors. The whites of the eyes are bothering me though--more or less because they're too white. I'd cut them back to a good gray, and either leave a bit of the white and do it all in shades of gray before going back in with a bit of white acrylic paint and dabbing in little white highlights over the irises or in the pupils. Nose looks a little flat; I'd try rounding that out a bit more. That is one damned fine lookin flaming skull guy though (did I mention I know nothing of comics?). It looks like you've got a bit of wax-bloom on the right side of the guy's face though--I think. I got it reall awful on a few of mine. But just go over it with a tissue and rub it up just a bit, then use fixative, and it should be ok.
